Something sexy & artistic for y’all this evening…
I just wanted to mention how much I loved the New Edition TV Biopic on BET! Everyone did such a great job. Casting was good, story was good, music was amazing, and I learned a lot about the group & music during that time. I didn’t know New Edition had such a heavy impact on music. I fell in love with those kid actors!! I was thoroughly entertained and my favorite part was when the young members morphed into the older members seamlessly. That was some serious CGI! BET is really stepping it up. And I’m so happy the real members of the group and their original music producers were involved in the project. They really showed how a biopic should be done. Muah!
Final viewer numbers: 28.4 million!
I’m obsessed with Detroit producer J-Dilla’s discography. Just pick a track with your eyes closed and it’s most likely a classic. He was amazingly talented, had that old school hip hop feel to his records but still original and more of a “feel good” sound. Some of my favorite tracks of his are Look of Love (also the Remix), Reunion, Won’t Do, Players, and Climax. I could probably name 10 more but I’ll save it for later. Here’s a little gem I discovered the other day:
RIP Jay Dee
The amazing performance by Beyoncé at the VMA’s. She was in rare form that night. I keep going back to watch it periodically. That’s how you know when a performance was fire! She killed it in vocals, rhythm, dance skill, confidence, and energy! I’m really starting to like her again. Let them niggas know B!
Don’t judge me but I’m obsessed with Rihanna’s VMA 2016 performance of some of her most ratchet songs. She’s so edgy and unapologetic. Love her confidence too. We won’t talk about her struggle vocals cuz well, we know she aint the best. But I enjoy watching her keep it real lol.
Let them niggas know RiRi! Her dancers are on-pointe too!!
